How It's Going

I thought I would do a little update on how we are adjusting to life in Texas
and just an overall update on life at this moment.
The area we live in is in North Dallas, and we absolutely love it here.
Everything I need or want is within 1 mile of our place.
The only time I really have to leave our city is to go to our RE.
It really does feel like we live in Orange County,
just with much nicer people and a lot more spread out.

Back in December I started working at a baby store.
(I know, an infertile working at a baby store seems insane, but it doesn't get to me)
I thought it would be temporary while I looked for a more legit job.
Especially because the pay is crap.
But, as time has gone by I have actually started to really enjoy my job.
I have always been obsessed with baby gear,
so this is the perfect job as I get to play with it all day long!
After a lot of thinking I decided to stay at this job for the time being.
For the first time ever I actually really love my job.
Also, they are going to be extremely flexible with me needing time off for Dr. appointments.
Plus my job is about 10 minutes away from the RE's office. Perfect.

As for Travis and his job it's a billion times better.
Two days before we left our California vacation to come back here
we found out he was being transferred to another store.
Well his new store and general manager is amazing!
He is no longer working 10-13 hour days.
It's been so nice for our relationship that he isn't stressed out and at his whits end every day
after getting bitched at all day at work for no reason.
He was also offered another promotion,
but yet again it was in B.F.E and we just couldn't accept it.
There wasn't an RE within 100 miles of where we would be moving.
Not gonna happen.
We are praying that he is offered another promotion here soon.

And then there is all the fun infertility crap.
Every day that passes I want more and more to be a mom.
Travis wants so badly to be a dad.
We have to do one more cycle of just Clomid before our insurance will cover
injectible medication, so that's up first.
We are going to talk to our RE about IVF.
Even though it isn't covered by insurance, I don't know how many
cycles of IUI I want to put ourselves through only to possibly end up having to try IVF.
Like I said, we are going to talk to our RE about all if it much more in detail.

So, that's life right now.
It is getting better every day and we are settling in to live here in Texas.

An Awesome Weekend

This past weekend Kim came out to visit for a few days.
I was a little nervous leading up to her arriving, as I still don't know anything
fun or exciting to do around here. And I didn't want her to make the trip
and be bored out of her mind and regret spending the money to come visit.
I had a great time. And while she may have been blowing smoke up my ass,
she said she had a great time too!

While we didn't do anything special, just spent plenty of time doing our usual...
shopping, eating, drinking and chatting.
It was so nice to be able to do whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted to.

I realize I talk about her all the time,
but I really am so blessed to be able to call her my friend.
She is one of the funniest and kindest people I know.
I really do miss our daily chats,
even if they were only for 5 minutes while inhaling some Starbucks before she left for work.
In the words of one of the greatest shows ever and theme songs ever,
"thank you for being a friend"!
(If you don't know what show this is from, we can't be friends)

The Ladies

Oh how I have missed these sweet girls.
I don't think I realized just how much I missed them until I saw them again.
The second day of vacation was their 2nd birthday party.
Our entire trip was planned around their birthday party.
I just couldn't imagine missing it.

If you read Kim's blog you've probably already read this, so I apologize I'm rehashing it.
Heading to the birthday party I was really nervous the girls weren't going to remember me.
I walked in the front door and Lily had just walked in from the backyard.
She looked at me and paused for a minute, and then she just came running towards me.
I just dropped to my knees and gave her a huge hug.
I know it sounds so cheesy, but it was one of the best moments of my life.
Sophia took a few minutes to warm up (my sister says she knows I abandon her!)
but after a few minutes we were playing and laughing.

As usual Kim out did herself with the birthday party.
The party was a Very Hungry Caterpillar theme.
Every last detail was perfect.
She always tries to downplay her skills, but she really is a great party planner and hostess.
We had great food, an awesome cake and the best sangria.

Aside from getting to see the girls it was so great to see Kim's family who I just love.
I miss her Mom and our days of chatting about celebrity gossip while the girls napped.

Warning: This is where it's going to get really corny.
I felt so blessed to be at the girls 2nd birthday party.
I just love these two with all my heart.
I would do anything for them.
I know they are growing and thriving, and probably learning far more at their daycare
but I still feel terrible for leaving them and moving away.
I know they don't care, but I do.
I miss spending 5 days a week with them.
They brought so much joy and laughter to my days.
Not a day goes by that I do not think about them and miss them terribly.
I so appreciate that Kim still talks about me with the girls and I hope
to be a part of their lives forever and continue to watch them grow into beautiful young ladies.
Thank you Kim for letting me be a part of your girls lives.
I love them and you dearly.

Vacation

Monday we returned from a lovely 10 day vacation in California.
It really was one of the best vacations we have had in a while.
Being able to spend time with family and friends was just what we both needed.

Travis spent the first four days in Las Vegas with my Dad playing in a golf tournament.
While he was in Vegas I got to spend time with my sister and mom which was fantastic.

{My sis}
The second day we were there I got to see the girls!
I'm doing a separate post about their birthday and getting to see them.

There were lots of babies I got to play with on vacation, which was bliss!
I met friends I haven't seen since high school for lunch and meet their new baby boys Troy and Donovan.
My cousin Kimmers (that's what I call her) drove down with her SIL
so I could meet their new baby boys Isaac and Dylan!
My sister's best friend who lives in Arizona happened to be in So Cal
and drove out so I could meet her 5 week old baby girl Harper.

{Me with Miss Harper. Ignore the fact that I look like an exhausted new parent, even though I'm not!}

Travis and I spent our days relaxing, enjoying the sunshine and warm weather,
drinking wine, celebrating our wedding anniversary and
realizing how badly we love and miss our family and friends and want to move back to California!
