Prayer Request

Update: I was reading on another blog I frequent about several little boys and girls who could use some prayer. Take a moment to check out these blogs. These kiddos need prayer.

So, I know I have never talked about my religious beliefs on my blog, but I have decided it's time to do just that. I have recently seen the power of prayer, and just how amazing and strong it is. If you have any prayer requests, please let me know. I have been spending a little time each night praying for people I don't even know, but I do know that God hears my prayers. And God answers prayer.

I do have a prayer request though. Please pray for Travis right now. He got a phone interview for the management position. It is the first step in a list of steps, but at least he is being given the opportunity. I have to keep reminding myself that if this job is God's will for us, then everything will work out. I just know how hard he has worked for this, and I don't want to see him disapointed. I would hate to see the company give the position to someone else just because they have previous experience. Travis has truly been living and breathing that place the past few months.

I will keep you all updated as I hear things!

The Countdown Is On...

I cannot believe that there are only 9 days left until my sisters wedding. I feel like it was just yesterday that they got engaged. I cannot believe how fast these past 5 months have flown by. Things are looking good for the wedding. Hopefully the weather stays nice and warm, which according to weather.com it is supposed to! Small projects are being accomplished each night.

I have decided to take on the huge duty of creating all the floral arrangements for the wedding. Originally I was just going to make the centerpieces, but after having a very strong margarita last week I decided that I could make the bouquets and crosages! It will be great practice for me. Plus it helps out that my sister is going for the "just picked from the garden" look! So I can just play it off that way if things don't turn out perfect!

I am so excited for this wedding! I am thrilled for my sister and Adam. I know God has great things planned in their future. I cannot wait to see what those things are. I also can't wait to be an Aunty, so Bug if you are reading this, get on it!

My New Adventure

For as long as I can remember I have hated my job as a waitress. I have always envied the people who have jobs they not only like, but actually love and enjoy. A few years ago when I dropped out of design school I considered taking some floral design classes, but there were none near me. So, I just blew off the idea.

At Thanksgiving a friend of mine asked me to decorate her dining table for dinner. I make several small floral arrangements, and had a blast doing it. Well, her boyfriend loved what I did and asked if I would come over once or twice a month and put fresh floral arrangements all throughout his house. I of course said yes, and have been doing just that for the past couple of months. I throughly enjoy doing it. It is the most fun and relaxing 2 or 3 hours of my days! My sister has seen my arrangments and has been encouraging me to get into floral design. I thought she was just being nice and telling me this. But, I have started making arrangements for friends, and getting some really good feedback. If they are just being nice, they made a bad move. I am going to try to start by own business in floral design.

I have a lot to learn. But I am not going into this thinking I will be pumping out arrangments left and right.Infact, my main goal is not to be a huge floral design store. I would just like to keep it small and simple. Something I can do from home or a small store once I have kiddos! I want to start off slow. I have looked into floral design schools yet again. I have basically 2 options, one is in Texas and two weeks long. The other is in Oregon and it is 5 weeks long! I think I will be leaning towards the Texas classes. I am trying to come up with a company name, so if you have any ideas, please let me know. And, if you need any floral arrangments, let me know! I will upload some pictures soon of what I have been designing.

I am really excited for this opportunity and really looking forward to it. I have a long way to go, but that is fine. It is something to keep me busy and happy. And hopefully one day soon it will be enough that I don't have to work as a waitress.Wish me luck...I'm gonna need it!

Big Plans

Travis and I have been discussing lately planning another vacation. We would both love to take another cruise, but we want to wait and save money so we can go on a great cruise. We are tenativly plannig on going a year from now, so maybe next March or April. I think we are going to go on a Mexico cruise. Now the big question is, do we go on a 7 night cruise to Puerto Vallarta, Cabo and Mazatlan, or go on a 5 night cruise to Cabo only. They are about the same price..7 nights just seems like a really long time. Any advice?

Since we aren't planning on going on a cruise for a year, we (okay I) would like to plan a little getaway sometime in September. Travis and I have both wanted to go to Napa and do some wine tasting. So hopefully we can make it up there and have these Temecula wineries put to shame. Again, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

And last but not least, I am planning on going to Vegas for my birthday this year. My birthday falls on a Thursday, and it is just 3 days before my cousins wedding, so we will have to come home the day after my birthday, but I am really looking forward to it. Not only do Travis and I love Vegas, but we have been dying to stay at Mandalay Bay, but never can really afford it. Well, since my birthday is in the middle of the heat and the economy sucks, rooms at Manadalay Bay are only $65 a night! I can't wait!

Now, let's see just how many of these trips we actually make it on!
